What does great customer service look like in 2019?
Today’s consumers are looking for customer service that is personalized, available, and stress-free. Customer service needs to include a human touch to truly be incredible.
Shortly before Thanksgiving, my husband purchased salt and pepper grinders from Chef’s Trick to use to prepare the feast. When they arrived they were well-made and classy looking. The chrome grinders were in a foam-lined box with magnetic flap closures. The color instruction manual included clear instructions on how to install the batteries, how to fill, operate and adjust the fineness of the grind. The product developer put a lot of thought into making their product as comfortable as possible for the consumer to use. We were so impressed with our purchase.
Then it happened… we dropped the salt grinder out of a cupboard onto the countertop and it cracked the acrylic locking threads on the grinder base. My husband used a little scotch tape to keep the top and base together and we were able to get through Thanksgiving.
My husband emailed Chef’s Trick to ask them about getting a replacement acrylic base for my salt grinder. Tetiana the owner of Chef’s Trick personally emailed him back to help resolve the problem. She was very apologetic about our issue and offered a solution. At that time she was completely out of stock on Amazon but she had a brand new, never used, set at her house and graciously offered to send us a complete set free of charge.
Here is the amazing customer service component.
We let her know in the original email that the damage was caused by us and wasn’t a manufacturing defect. Tetiana was still willing to make us completely satisfied customers. After sending her our mailing address, she promptly sent out a new set to me in the mail.
Customer service like this is very rare these days and I am so impressed with this company and how they stand behind their products.
This company went out of their way to not only deliver a great product but to make me happy. I never felt like a number but like a valued customer. When a company values their clients they develop a customer for life. Customers who feel valued will surely spread the word about products.
